Hi Fred,

If it's just a weak signal, try putting the router as high in the 
room as you can get it.  If the wireless adapter on your second 
computer is of the USB variety, getit as high as you can.  If it is 
on the back of your computer and can't be elevated, make sure the 
signal doesn't have to pass through the computer if possible.  I have 
had to rotate a computer to accomplish this in the past.  If none of 
these cheap solutions work, LinkSys makes a device that you can plug 
in an outlet halfway between the computers and program to rebroadcast 
the signal from the router.  It used to run about $100.
