Rick,

Congrats, you will like it.  The cable is just a 9 pin serial cable with all 
9 pins straight through.  Do *not*  get a "null modem" cable which has a 
pair of wires  reversed.   If you can find what is sometimes called an 
"extension cable" it will have female on both ends, otherwise if you get 
one with male at one end and female at the other, you  will need a gender 
changer adapter to match it up.

I also went from a 430 to the 2000 back in 2001  and you are in for a real 
treat.
