In this edition;
1. ATT visits Gaddafi in Tripoli and Sirte. I like Gaddafi's tent.
You will recall Kitabul Akhdar - the Green Book? Well I have no idea
what happened to that vision for Libya but Gaddafi wants to test it in
Mali in an effort to realize King-cred. The king of kings of Africa.
Mali yielded 100,000 hectares to him and he's building an aqueduct of
average 75 metres wide and 40 km long. Alongside he will construct an
access road. With this canal he plans to irrigate the 100,000 hectares
in the Niger River complex where other governments like The
Netherlands, Japan, US, Canada, EU have developped massive irrigation
systems. The Millenium Development Challenge is also very active in
accompanying Mali's agricultural revolution.
Gaddafi is also busy investing in the tourist industry in Mali with two
hotels Laico and Afriquia, a cultural village alongside the Afriquia
hotel in Timboctou, and a hospitality complex alongside the Laico in
Bamaco.
That's not all. You remmember Ibrahim AG Bahanga. Well he is the
insurance policy so Gaddafi remains king of kings of Africa. He is
dispatched every once in a while to regroup some bands of Tuareg
criminals in order to create a corridor between south Libya and North
Mali passing through Tamanrasset. This will ensure the caravan route
for the king to make visits to his subjects in the south. Bahanga lives
in a villa afforded by the king in south Libya.
2 - Malians in France and in Canada participate in the development of
their nation and in ensuring democratic governance in Mali.
3 - The Czech Republic parliamentarians are impressed with Mali's
democracy. And they visit Mali to begin a new regime of partnership in
defense and commerce. You will remmember the Czech Republic supplied
Mali with the Mali Franc currency and they painted Czechs black to make
the money suitable for Mali. They had tanks and armour on the money.
Mali abandoned that money, not for the cultural unsuitability but
because of local economic models that were hamstrung by a Mali Franc
among the French Franc Zone. You know the friggin French were livid. I
hope the Czech now have better ideas for cooperation.
4. - WAR AGAINST TUBERCULOSIS
etcetera, etcetera.
Allez!!! Haruna.
