Hello List,
By going to the Internet options, the search defaults can be changed under
the general tab.
Some of the post that follows this post talks about doing searches and going
to web pages. For me to get to Google, I only have to hit ALT, A, & then G.
I am then in Google.com search box.
If I know the website that I want, I do a CNTL+O which opens up a message
box. Then I just enter the website, such as dol.gov and hit enter.
For the longer or more complex websites, I use the Favorites. The first
letter convention really makes this quick.
Michael

HI Brian, have you tried resetting IE back to it's default settings by going
into tools and options and settings I think.

Subject: [VICUG-L] an issue with internet explorer 8
Hi all,
I'm using a desktop computer, running windows xp pro, jaws 10, and
internet explorer 8.
Here's the problem.
Everytime I launch internet explorer, I get this message.
"Internet Explorer - Search Provider Default
A program on your computer has corrupted your default search
provider setting for Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search
provider, Bing (www.bing.com).
Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can
change this setting or install more search providers.
OK button"
So, how do I get rid of this box? This has just started on my
computer as of today.
Brian
