Colin, I tried connecting the antenna feed lines directly to the radio.
I did both antennas and got receive off both antennas.
In fact both antennas were receiving great.
I do get receive off of both antennas while connected to the tuner.
I am beginning to think the tuner went south on me.
Now on the coax for the loop when I put the continuity meter it does show a
short somewhere.
Now the g5rv shows no short.
I am using a LDG AT250 PRO AUTO TUNER.
i DIDN'T HAVE ANY OF THE ANTENNAS CONNECTED UP WITH THE BAD WEATHER GOING
ON.
I have a short jumper going from the 706 mark II g to the tuner.
The continuity meter shows no short in the jumper.
Thanks for all of the ideas.

junior:
I don't know your set up well enough, but try connecting the coax feed lines
coming directly from the antennas, directly to the radio and see if you can
at least get a noise level.
sounds like there is an issue with the tuner or parts there of.
It's pretty huge odds that both antennas failed at the same time...unless
you did get lightening and it blew out the tuner or something.
though I doubt that at this point.
Do you get any noise level right now with the original set up? or is there
no noise, no receive etc?
If that is the case, try connecting the antenna or antennas directly to the
radio and see if you get noise. If you do, then you'll know it is something
in the chain between the radio and the antenna feed lines.
