Good luck.  I haven't seen the 703 and don't know how it compares, but for 
what it is, I like the 718.  It has keypad for memory select and frequency 
entry.  I can't really comment on the receiver, with an s 8 line noise, 
I'd probably do just as well with a 1 n 34 a diode. <smile>
