For Jim:

No 6 meter talkies with ssb currently in production.  NO 6 meter fm talkies 
with speech that I know of.

I would waste my time with 6 or 10 meter rigs.  I would start looking for a 
used ts570, ts2000, icom 746, or simiilar.  Then you get 160 through 6, all 
mode, and some speech in one package.
