To paraphrase General Sheridan: "The only good hunter-gatherer is a dead one".

As Dr. Atkins and I once discussed, it's difficult to espouse our dietary views when large segments of our society consider certain carbohydrates ( bread and wine) sacred.  Thus Paleo ( and low-carb) will always be considered politically incorrect.

I have found in both my personal and literary life that adopting a Paleo lifestyle has consequences far beyond food choices and health concerns.  Symbiotic relationships with our crops define our religious, civic and personal lives.  As my own involuntary celibacy will attest, those who stray from these relationships do so at their own peril.
