Hi, folks.
Last week-end, at a swap in Southwest Lower Michigan, I was lucky enough to
pick up a Motorola amplified speaker. It was one of those nice speakers
with a metal case, and the grill work on the back. The item cost me a grand
total of $5. All I had to do was replace the wiring for the power and phono
connections, and I was good to go.
The speaker is incredible, and goes a long way in terms of giving me clear
audio, even under marginal conditions.
But, I have run into an interesting dilemma.
In working with my TS480, here at the home shack, I have had to adjust the
volume output levels for the VGS1 announcement, the beep tone, and the CW
sidetone down to the lowest possible level. This is ok for the VGS1
announcement, and the beep tone, but the CW sidetone, even at level 1, is a
little too loud for comfort.
Does anyone know of a way that I can "fine tune" this adjustment further, to
get the CW sidetone volume down at least a little bit more?
This is the only disadvantage I have found when using this terrific
amplified speaker.
