It is best if you have no metal along the twin lead wire.  a mast of PVC or 
something heavier can be useful.  The ends can be secured to a tree or a 10 
foot mast.  I have used the G5RV near a metal tower, but have it on a PVC 
standoff of about 3 feet and tie the ends to a tree with a bungee in line in 
order to absorbed any tree flex.  Gary.

I just ordered a G5Rv, and would like to ask you all for advice on how =

I have 79 feet by no more than 20 feet to put it in.
I didn't measure the width.

standing mast.
I don't have room to put in guywires.
My shack is on the second floor.
Now for my questions.
How much free standing mast can I safely use?
What do I do with the ladder line?
If I understand right there is 33 feet of ladder line, and it's not a =
good idea to have it near metal.
