John,

The difference between the settings is timing.  Setting 1 is 10MS, and 
setting 2 is 25MS.  Obviously, use setting 2 if your relay is slow, but if 
setting 1 works, use it.  I think the radio automatically switches to 
setting 1 if you're using full break-in.
