So the cassava is actually from Mozambique! I just hope local Mozambicans will still be able to afford this important staple to feed their families. This venture has the potential of luring small cassava growers into selling only to SABMiller. It might create employment for more than 1,500 farmers and their families, but it will make cassave inaccessible to local people. In addition, the whole idea of cheap alcohol for Africans, is really not what Africa needs at a time when people should be coming up with sustainable ways to make Africans autonomous and healthy. Anyone recalls the liquor in little plastic bags and how much drunkenness it has been causing in people of all age groups?
