We're spending a week in a resort at Escondido and would really appreciate  
recommendations for local eateries (preferably not the usual franchised  
places) and places to shop for g.f. food both in Escondido, La Jolla and  San 
Diego. We'll be staying at a Lawrence Welk Resort and will have a full  
kitchen but traveling from Virginia so we won't be packing a lot of food.
 
Any information would be most appreciated.
