They must have changed them since 2002 when I got mine, that or you're real 
abusive with them, mine is fine after all this time after a few drops, the 
speaker in my THF6A gave up a couple years ago so I need a speaker mic to 
use the radio but that's alright. I was going to replace the radio but 
circumstances make that impossible right now so no big deal, I don't like 2 
meters anyway which is about all I use that band for, if it wasn't for RACES 
and ARES I'd never get on the band, and that odd time I need directions or 
something. I have enough HT's, that's for sure.
