Just a small correction.  The 703 also has a mode to run the keyer with the 
up/down mic buttons.

I have had both the 703+ and 817.  703 is much more friendly to use.  At 
least icom gives us a longish beep from which to count in the menus.

However, Danny is right about extra coverage.  If Yeasu would just give us 
some beeps, I'd get an 817 in a minute.
However, since they won't, I'll stick with the 703+ for a while.
