Seizures can affect either side of the body or both sides. An eeg will see
if she is having seizures at the time of the eeg, it can also serve as a
baseline for brain function. A regular MRI will look at structures of the
neurological system to see if something is grossly wrong your child's brain.
Other imaging techniques that the children I have worked get may be a fMRI
(functional MRI) and the epilepsy specialist in Miami uses a SPECT scan to
see where the seizures are coming from.
