Hi all,
I wrote a couple of weeks ago about a problem with the VFO and the PM
buttons were locked out. I never got a good answer except suggestions to do
a full reset. I called Kenwood tech support and got a answer. The radio
was in display or channel mode. This is used when you have a radio already
programmed with memory channels. This gives one the channel number only
instead of the channel and frequency. This is used to where you tell
someone that we are using number 5 for communications, but the operator will
not know the frequency. To put it in this mode, you turn off the radio and
hold down the power out put button and then turn the radio back on. Hope
this helps for anyone who may need this function. Gary KB2YAA
