<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

Thanks for the many responses. This Summary will only contain responses that met the criteria of:

1) Including how the product was verified GF.
2) Response was not "I use it and am fine."
3) Response did not include websites that cost money. This was also applied to those of you who are independent sales reps for cosmetics companies who asked me to contact you about buying. None of you included any corporate evidence of a GF status so these were not included.

Having said that, I am not posting responses from people who sell cosmetics for a living and solicited business.

1) Blistex: All Blistex products are GF. As they are all GF, there is no risk of cross contamination on the lines. Verified per telephone call to company in 2010.

2) Afterglow Cosmetics: All are gluten free per their website and made in a dedicated GF facility.

3) Yes to Carrots: All Yes to Carrots, except for their hair conditioner, are gluten free. Verified per telephone call to company in 2010.

4) Bonne Bell: They maintain a list of gluten free products. This list can change as it is based on the statements they require from their suppliers. Contact the company directly for the most recent list. They do not have dedicated lines but state they use "good manufacturing techniques" between each production that includes steam cleaning vats and lines to prevent cross contamination. Per phone call in 2010, this was verified. However, they use the standard line of no guarantee of cross contamination as a disclaimer. They have added a new line that is organic and gluten free.

5) Lancome website has a list of their gluten free items. No mention of any contact to cover risk of cross contamination

6) Laura Mercier identifies their lipstick as GF with certain colors excepted which are listed in their FAQs on their website.

7) Dr. Bronner's lemon-lime lip balm is gluten free. Verified by email via Dr. Bronner's customer service, late summer 2009

As for BURT'S BEEs - several responses of people who have had issues with it lately. One respondent's child had a rash from it and their dermatologist shared that "she had seen several patients with reactions to it [Burt's Bees] another response was that they had used Burt's Bees for a while but recently it gave a burning sensation to the user's lips. NO RESPONSE from Burt's Bees Medical Reaction Department to date with information on if their items are GF.

DD chose Yes to Carrots for its GF status as well as it being organic and not tested on animals.

Thanks to everyone who shared their information.

* Please remember some posters may be WHEAT-FREE, but not GLUTEN-FREE *
