Unfortunately because these tests are not standardised, there is no one
set of normal ranges. Each laboratory in the USA has to generate their
own normal range. The scales are not comparable, So follow up tst
results done at another lab may not be accurately compared with teh
results obtained at the first lab.. anothe problem is that there is
tremendous consolidation in the laboroatory world with bidding processes
making it possible that your provider may end up sending later specimens

Following is a Medline abstract that Sue Goldstein posted to the list back
on 30 Aug 95. Recently I corresponded with a graduate student at Rutgers,
and she looked up the article. Following the abstract is her analysis, which

Fosamax, Alendronate, is a newly available drug used to treat
postmenopausal women with osteoporosis. It does so by blocking
resorption of bone. It may be important to make sure that a celiac
individual does not have osteomalacia, or hyperparathyroidism before
starting someone on the drug, as it might make it worse. the issue of
whether the drug is gluten free also needs to be established.
This only one issue to be considered The potential interaction with
hormone replacement needs to be addressed also.

Hi I'm new to this list, so forgive me for jumping in on the middle of this
debate.
Have any of you who are allergic to cow's milk or sensitive to lactose
tried goat milk? I've been driking goat milk for almost 10 years now, with
none of the problems I had with cow's milk. It is supposedly easier to
digest than cow's milk, because it has "a shorter chain of fatty acids"
(whatever that means). Why suffer through those potentially gluten-ridden

Flourless Golden Egyptian cake
 
2 oranges (juice or navel)
6 eggs
2 c sugar
8 oz blanched sliced almonds
1 t. baking powder
 
Grease and line 8 or 9 in. Springform pan
Preheat oven 325
 
Put oranges in thick-bottomed pot, cover with water, simmer at least 2 hours
until slightly soft but not mushy.
Drain and cool.
Cut into quarters and remove seeds.
Process in food processor w/ almonds, scraping bowl until smooth paste forms
(about 5 min).
Add baking powder and pulse to mix in.
Add eggs and sugar, process 15 sec. Scrape bowl and process 15 sec.
Place in pan.
Bake about 1 hour until firm and med brown.
Let cool in pan, cut around edges and remove.
Top w/ Ganache
 
Ganache
1/2 c whipping cream
1 c. choc chips
 
In heavy hot on high heat bring cream to boil.
Reduce to simmer and stir in chips.
Remove from heat, stir until smooth.
Spread when warm for toppingor cool and beat on high w/ mixer until fluffy
for filling.
