Hello again! I just returned from the most fantastic trip to Panama. Panama in
and of itself is fabulous. I firmly believe that the warmer the climate, the
warmer the people. I went there not knowing what to expect but fortunately one
listserv member had responded to my initial inquiry. She helped me enormously
with not just gluten free info but traveling to Panama in general. I will
forever be grateful to her as well as to the list. Having an online community
that is there when I need to ask for help and the ability to reciprocate is a
resource beyond value or words to describe.
The InterContinental Playa Bonita Hotel and Spa was absolutely fantastic. The
property was beautiful, the ocean view was humbling, the rainforest was within
feet from our room, the staff was exceptionally warm and friendly, there were
many amenities such as the free-form swimming pools and spa, and the gluten free
food was absolutely the best. I can't explain the kind of gluten-free anxiety
that I had before the trip. My fears were quickly put to ease when I had
contact with the Executive Chef before the trip by email. He not only
accommodated my dietary needs but made some of the most delicious foods that I
ever had. By far it was the best ever!!! Every meal was a delight!
The general manager of the resort checked in on a few occasions himself! He was
wonderful too! It was amazing to not only partake in the group festivities (the
trip was work-related) but to enjoy all the meals as well! I never got to the
resort's spa but I definitely felt pampered!
I would highly recommend this resort and hope to return again soon. Panama is
beautiful and this resort was spectacular! Please note - I have no interest in
this resort financially or other BUT was extremely pleased and wanted to share
the info with my fellow listmates!
