Hi Shui Yee, Ana and all
As far as statistical software for coursework, There are different
products. Some are more accessible than others. I would find to give
more than general advice without knowing what software your classes
would be using.
If you know people who have degrees from the places you are considering
applying, ask them about their experience with stats classes,
especially the classes required for the program you are considering.
What software did the classes use? Then you can use a search engine and
see what the internet says about the software in combination with JAWES
or NVDA or whatever screen reader you use.
If you are considering several schools, you might have to talk to more
people but hopefully that will also give you info about several choices
as far as software.
I can suggest a couple specific places to look but if you have specific
software needs, I can include a search engine check for accessibility
info in the next email.
Also, sometimes I think people wind up using readers if the software
they need cannot be made accessible.
I would be glad to answer more questions if something specific would be
helpful.
Best

Subject: [VICUG-L] Software for Statistics and Blind Pharmacists
Hi all,
This message was posted to another list. I'm forwarding it here in
case anyone can help. The writer has two questions:
1. S/he is a pharmacist who's become blind recently and wants to
talk to other blind pharmacists for tips and pointers.
2. S/he is thinking of doing a masters, which involves statistics
and wants to know if software for doing statistics is accessible.
Thanks for any help.
Ana

Hi, my name is Shui Yee. I am from Malaysia. I became totally
blind due to side effects of chemotherapy but I still persevere and
completed my degree in Pharmacy. However I am at risk of losing my job
because I could not meet their requirements. I just want to know if
there are any blind pharmacist that can share their experiences with
me so that I can see if there are any other options.Another question is
I want to do a Master program. But I know that it requires statistical
analysis when doing a thesis. I just want to know how the blind people
get the statistics software to work for them.Any reply would be greatly
appreatiated. I can be contacted at [log in to unmask] Thank you
