Extinction events are best described by Jim McCanney MS, who built on
the work of I. Velikovsky, both of them true scientists.

McCanney showed that the quick freezing of mammoths was due to a sudden
pole shift - the North Pole used to be between the southern tip of James
Bay and the current U.S. border, which made Siberia a warm and pleasant
place for mammoths.
He also describes The Flood as a transfer of Ocean from Mars to Earth
via a comet which later probably became Venus. This added about 200 feet
to the sea level.

He deserves a read by those who have an open mind and can do critical
analysis.

Velikovsky's last book was named Mankind in Amnesia (IIRC), which agrees
with Ben's view that Neolithic man is nuts. Remarkable that
institutional "science" has had so much success in sweeping Velikovsky's
work under the rug.

Religion or theism is a product of insanity, noted by Jesus Christ -
"The Kingdom of Heaven is within You".
My guess is that the insanity/amnesia is caused by physical poison left
by a passing comet. There is evidence.
