i have looked into many areas... oakland is strange... you can have a good area where there are mostly single family homes, then you go 5 or 6 blocks, and it's much rougher. condo would be safer, but as it's on a major road, you'd rarely see and talk to neighbors. The only area where it's clearly defined, is the oakland hills where the rich live.  Oakland has several crime data web sites, and I make use of them. Mag

WOW Tammer sounds like ya got 2 great possibles.  Don't want to rain 
on your perayed here, but in both of those you talk about here, how do 
you feel about the neighborhood in regards safety piece of mind and 
so on?
