Steve
I just installed a new hard drive in a laptop and somehow the registry
entries for .NET were messed up. Supposedly I could uninstall all the
NET versions, but then I could not reinstall any of them as some
registry entries were erroneous. I found the following site with a last
resort .NET removal tool. As a last resort I downloaded and used the
tool. Worked great as I was then able to reinstall .NET.

Just in case you need it.

I download and install this update and the next time I turn on the computer, I am notified again that the same update is available. So I do it again. And so everytime I turn on the computer, this happens.
