Rick,
That is one of the quirks of the 2000, it doesn't tell you what vfo you
are on. But it really doesn't matter if you rx on vfo "A" and tx on vfo "B"
or the other way around. The radio doesn't care. You can reverse what is
the rx and the tx vfo by hitting the a/b button when in split mode. But
again it doesn't matter which is rx and which is tx.
Something that may or may not help you is while in split mode, push and hold
the TF button. It is the one just to the right of the menu button and has a
dimple in the middle. If you press and hold while in split mode it will
jump to the TX freq and the voice will announce it. release it and you go
back to the RX vfo. If not in split mode, and you press that button, you
just get a "boink'. So it is a good way to see if you have left it in
split mode when you don't want to be there.
