Thanks, Lou, and I will try to take that poll.

At least our switch to 17 meters would only be for one week.

My main concern with 17 meters is that it might close too early for our
usual net time, especially for folks like you on the east coast. I tried
listening around at about net time this afternoon, and there were very few
signals on the band. Granted, I didn't try to call CQ or anything, but I'd
think if the band were truly open, there would have been more activity than
I heard.

We will see what the others think on the normal 20-meter net tomorrow, and
on the list during the coming week, and take it from there.

Thanks, and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ

Tom,

I think 17 is a great idea. But then I'm one of the rare folks who has a
much better antenna on 17 than I do on 20. I imagine many of our members
may not have a 17 meter antenna at all. So we'll have to discuss it here on
the list and, as you say, take a poll on the net tomorrow but, for the
record, I'm in. Lou
