Hi Everyone,
I want to share something with you all.
On Saturday afternoon after 4 PM CST, Vernon and I desided to take a
drive in our loving Prowler. We had not done anything exciting all
winter. We drove out to Lake Thompson, on our loving Prowler, which
is a U.T.V., and I had started recording the begining of this whole
trip out to the lake, from the time when we left the gas station here
in town, and it was really fun going through all that snow, until we
got stuck. lol. We high-centered the Prowler, and it was fun! lol.
What wasn't fun, is that we were getting cold, no heat in that loving
little machine, and fortunately we had a soft cab on it. <grin> Thank
God for cell phones. We had to call a friend, and she called some
young kids, Dave and Scott, to come and pull us out. We were in
about 4 feet of snow. lol. I was worried about my loving Vernon, as
he got totally exhausted shoveling the snow, to try and get us out.
No luck. When the guys got to us, Vernon had Dave take me to his
truck, while him and Scott, the birthday boy who was turning 26 years
old, tried to get the Prowler out of the snow, with one of the quads
they had with them. Oh, that was fun walking in 4 feet of snow. lol.
I couldn't stay on top of the snow. lol. I was glad I had my ice
grips on my boots. That did help, and I never fell once, but I sunk
down in the snow, a lot. lol. Dave had to pull me up. lol. We were
laughing. I praised God when we got to the truck. I got in the truck,
and kept warm, while Dave went back and helpped Vernon and Scott. I
stayed in the truck, while the two young guys tried to get the
Prowler out of the snow. They couldn't get us out, either. They took
us back here to our house, and we learned about Scott's birthday that
day. They were suppose to go to the Country Club for a birthday party
for him. Vernon got in some warmer clothes, while I stayed here at
home. I was coming up stairs to take a shower, and the phone rang. It
was our neighbor and friend, Jim Farrel. He asked me where I was, and
I told him. I also told him what happened, and he new about it. He
asked me, "How old are you both?" I said, Well, Today about 18. lol.
He laughed. In the mean time, Vernon and Dave and Scott, went to get
a tractor to get the prowler out, and then they got the tracktor
stuck. You know these young ones, they don't listen well. <grin> lol.
Vernon tried to tell Dave, the 23 year old kid, to stay on the road,
and stay to the left, but he got the tractor stuck in the
ditch. They went and got chains, and someone with another truck, and
it took some time, but they finally got the tractor and the Prowler
out. Vernon got home a little after 9 PM. I made him breakfast
for supper that night. It was quite an experience, but very
interesting. Vernon admitted he shouldn't have gone through that
stuff, and he didn't realize it was that deep.
Of course, Everyone in town knows about it now. <grin> lol. He felt
bad about it, but I told him it was no big deal, except that we hated
to make those kids miss that birthday party for Scott. They were
very nice to us, and Vernon told them to stop and see us. I know he
plans to pay them, but if they don't take anything, we'll take them
and their wives out on our loving Pontoon boat fishing this summer.
We'll have a full meal on the boat, as we can fit 13 people on that
loving boat. We're getting excited and ready for spring.
Please pray that I can sell some stuff, so we can pay off some bills,
and I can get a new bed, and for Vernon for his birthday, I want to
buy him a marine stereo that plays mp3's for the boat.
Now, Vernon is cutting up an old hot-water heater in the bacement.
I'm praying for all of you.
Lovingly,
Pat Ferguson
