Thank you for the many replies (30 or so), I greatly appreciate them! Here are the nuts and bolts:

1. No problems reported with Zyrtec or Zyrtec-D even for the most sensitive celiacs. One respondent said that her son did have problems when they switched from the liquid to the tablet form, but not sure that was related to Zyrtec or something else.

2. The following generics were also shared as producing no gluten symptoms: Sam's Club Maker's Mark, CVS, Wal-Mart, and Costco.

3. There is now a recall on the liquid form of the Zyrtec, as well as children's Tylenol products, so please be aware of that. Some general information has been
given regarding the reason, but nothing to indicate gluten contamination is listed yet.

4. One person stated that the company will not guarantee that the product is GF, so uses Claritin.

And, regarding the question to what Zyrtec is, it is an over the counter antihistamine.

Thanks for all the information and for the advice on where to find good cheap generic brands (Costco and Sam's Club)!
