all philly (center city) suggestions i received:
**For kids, I recommend Giorgio on Pine (GF pizza, pasta, desserts) off of Broad Street in Center City. There's also an Olive Garden (GF pasta)
off of Broad as well. If you like Mexican, try Lolita.
**Mumbai Bistro, near 9th and Locust -- Indian food; gf is clearly labeled, inexpensive.
Au Bon Pain -- it's a chain, and there are lots of locations. The soups
are clearly marked and they always have a couple of gf options. I ate
there last week and had a bowl of roasted eggplant and tomato soup and
two hard boiled eggs.
El Rey, near 20th and Chestnut -- Mexican. Tell your server you need gf. They are terrific. Good lunch specials. I
like the huevos rancheros.
Philadelphia Chutney Co near 16th and Locust -- good value. Lots of the wraps are gf. Ask the counter
person to make sure to steer you away from any fillings that might be contained in a gf wrapper. I can explain more if this place appeals and
my description doesn't make sense.
MiLah Chinese vegetarian on 16th near Sansom -- this place is so good! Many gf choices. Tell your server. Don't know if it will appeal to a 6-year-old palette.
If you are going to be in the vicinity of 4th and South St, check out Essene Market. It's a store that also has a cafe with prepared foods.
The counter person and chef are very knowledgeable and can steer you clear of gluten and have lots of options.
**Giorgio's on Pine. Very family friendly. Just below (east) of Broad Street on south west corner. No reservations necessary. Great Italian restaurant with a large selection of guten-free pasta and pizza and other dishes. I love the g/f rigatoni with sausage. Great for a cold night.
**The Devil's Den - 11th & Ellsworth (South Philly - just west of the Italian Market) The are a GREAT listed restaurant (NFCA's list)

**I don't know how it would be for kids, but we had a great meal at Distrito. I guess that's a little more towards the west, though, at 40th street.
Bard's at 20th & Walnut has a good GF menu.
**El Vez at 13th and Sansome takes great care of Celiacs. Their polenta fries are amazing. Across the street is Capo Giro. They make all their
delicious gellato on site and are quick to discuss ingredients, although very few are not GF.
**El Rey, good mexican, very GF aware, and kid friendly.
