NLS has said when using flash drives to use brand name drives. not all
drives work. They don't know why this is. it is not the size of the drive.
It seems kinston and san disc are ok.

Subject: RE: [VICUG-L] what is the USB size limit for NLS Reader

I tried playing some NLS downloaded books on my new NLS player from my local
library from a 4gb USB and the player would not recognize the content. Can
it only recognize 1gb or smaller? Or is there something else going on?

I have been told the cartridges that NLS uses are the same as flash drives
but a different shape for easier handling.

Blank 1 gigabyte cartridges can be baught from Independint Living aids for
about $17.50 with a cable to connect to computer USB port and the cartridge
for transfering the books.
