People died - before we figured out how to play God - people did the
normal natural thing and died. Death is normal and natural, we have
never been promised or told we get a long healthy life. We get what we
get, and it ends. And it ends when it ends - no one gets promised 100
years - all deaths are natural (except maybe wanton murder which doesn't
include war)even when they happen to the young. Somewhere along the line
people got a sense of entitlement about the quality and length of life.
Not true it's still an unknown time and an unknown quality.
