I saw this on QTH.com in the miscellaneous section and thought someone may
be interested.  Doesn't seem to be a bad price.

Kenwood VS-1 speech synthesizer 
Hard to find Kenwood vs-1 speech synthesizer. I understand this unit will
work with the TS-440, 940, 711, 811, TM-2550 and possibly others. Check your
manual to be certain. I removed it from a TS-440S and it was working fine.
Includes schematic, circuit board view, and parts list and instructions for
installing in the TS-440S. In my TS-440S it announced the current frequency
when the speech button was pushed.
$40.00 plus shipping.
