Does anyone else have problems getting your insurance company to cover
brand name drugs to avoid gluten? I am the spouse of a retired military
officer on medicare and using Tricare For Life (the retired military drug
benefit). I jump through all the hoops (with my doctor's assistance) and still
sometimes end up paying for my meds out of pocket because they deny the need
for brand name. My newest requirement is for a blood pressure medication
which I will probably need for life so it is going to be very expensive. I
have exhausted my usual options and have not much hope for the appeals
process. I have contacted my congressman and am hoping to get some assistance
there since this is a government contract. I would like to gather some data
from others who have this same problem due to Celiac and am particularly
interested in hearing from other military people. I will let you know about
any progress that I am able to make. Thanks again to all you great folks.
