Has anyone had gluten issues with Osmoprep? I've just spoken with Salix
Pharmaceuticals (I spoke with a very helpful person). They said that
they communicate it to be gluten free - by that they mean that there is
no added gluten. However, he said he'd never been asked whether the
plant also processed gluten. (Please, don't flame me on this subject, I
realize that contaminated plants don't affect everyone - however, they
make some of us incredibly sick). I had a colonoscopy on Monday and I'm
getting all the gluten signs - shakey hands, numb lips, light headed,
waves of burning pain just below my rib cage, loose stools. (I'm on
touch with my gastro, in case this is a perforation but it doesn't
appear to be in the correct place).

Would love to hear if anyone else has had problems with this prep.
(I've read all the kidney issues associated with phosphates but I have
tolerated Fleet's phosphate product very well, so I don't think that's
it).

Happy to summarize if folk are interested.

Ps anyone had any gluten issues with the sedatives or stuff they put on
you in a colonoscopy - I have a big red ring from some monitor they
stuck on me. I've had three before and usually I feel better after
them. This time I felt fab before it - it was routing - and I'm in
trouble now.
