Several important questions here, Jeff. First off, what's the make and
model number of your router? Secondly, are you using the dedicated /
proprietary router software to set up your network? Whenever possible,
avoid using such software and configure your router by going into the
default
192.168.1.1
internet address. I had some issues along these lines with my linksys E3000
router; a very good router, but there are some things which can only be done
with the proprietary software; and yes, said software isn't particularly
accessible.
Without further information, I don't know that anyone will really be able to
help you.
John

Subject: [VICUG-L] lingering wifi issues
HI everyone, I have gotten my computer's Wifi issues resolved to where I can
connect to a network, but setting one up is another story. I want to be
able to just use the IPhone in the house via Wifi, but every time I go to
set up the network I get the only option to save the information on a USB
drive and even then if I try to do that it still won't transmit. I guess I
am confused as to why I can't set something up and have to use a USB drive?
When I try to do peer to peer it will transmit, but I wasn't access the
Internet via Wifi from the phone.
