I am using JAWS version 10 with a Focus 80 Braille display. I was using a
PowerBraille and my Attachmate emulation software was working fine though I
got occasional contention with other applications. Now that I upgraded to
the Focus display, my AttachMate software won't connect to our mainframe.
To make matters worse, I had to return the Focus display due to defects and
when I reconnected my Powerbraille, AttachMate still didn't work. I
couldn't get much help from Freedom Scientific. All they said was to try
another emulation software and they mentioned some shareware product called
Teraterm. My employer woulnd't let me use shareware so I'm back to using a
commercial product. I would call Attachmate, but we don't have a site
license and they won't give me tech support with out it. The reason we
don't have a site license is because AttachMate isn't our company standard
product to use mainframe emulation.
To get around the problem, I am using my laptop which I use for tech support
and connecting that to the mainframe. I don't understand why upgrading JAWS
or a Braille display should cause Attachmate not to work. I would really
appreciate some help.

Thanks,
Dan
