In Michigan, similarly, it is not measured from property lines, or
even as-the-crow-flies distance from door to door. Rather, it's
measured church doorway to street center line, then following center
line of street to a point right in front of bar doorway, then from
center line to bar doorway.

In essence, you get credit for the distance across the street, even if
you are located on the same side of the street as the church.

However, I'm thinking that the required distance here is something
greater than 200 feet. Also, the church is allowed to waive this
prohibition on a case by case basis, for which I assume consideration
can be offered and paid.

Caveat: this is from memory and is not legal advice. The rules could
have changed since the last time I dealt with these issues.
