No experience, but I have a calculator. About 57 square feet every 15 minutes, or roughly a 12 foot tall swath five feet wide. Probably 20 percent of the total would have been ceiling. That's based on no breaks, no lunch, and no vissits to the pissiour, just 10 straight hours of plastering. I'd say his forearms would have put Popeye to shame.

I don't know if this is a good speed or not, does anyone here have any
experience?  Ruth


Vermont Tribune, Ludlow,  October 16, 1885

P. E. CHASE has his new house now ready for painting.  The plastering was
done by D. N. WILLIAMS of Ludlow, who is a good workman.  He put on 253
square yards of mortar in one day of 10 hours.
