I agree with what you are saying, but one slight correction:

With the switch to standard time, our net will now be at 0100 Z, if my time 
conversions are accurate.

Unfortunately, at least for this week. at 0:00 UTC, 40 meters is shot from
here and 75 meters is already shot as well.
Weak fluttery 5 and 7 signals, with a few 4's.  It's as bad as last winter.
The only really open band is 160.
I could hear Tom and maybe Junior, but everybody else closer would be high
over my head.  We are trying to do something at a difficult time and place
in the sunspot cycle.
