The killed deer are butchered and given to food shelters. The
marksmen/hunters get about 50-100 lbs of meat as payment if they reach a
certain quota. Nothing else.

Eric,

You forgot the joy of the "hunt". You know, like shooting fish in a barrel.
Actually using an M80 is more effective on the fish. 

I do like a good Bambi burger though. Make good Swedish meatballs too,
although for those you should really have reindeer. Don't forget the
lingonberries!
