    Steve:

Well, at least we tried, and that's the important thing.

I wonder what you and others on the list think would be reasonable for me to
expect, in terms of making contacts on 75 and 80 meters from out here in
Colorado.

For example, last night, I did make some CW and SSB contacts in the New York
QSO Party, and didn't think that was too bad.

I was surprised at the lack of signals on the band, at around 9 and 10
o'clock my time, since usually, in Michigan, the band was full of signals,
especially in the SSB portion. But, maybe last night was unique.

Anyway, will keep working at things here; my next purchase will be a manual
tuner with a bypass switch.

I guess Philly was just a bit too far last night for Colorado. Never had
a clear copy on you. Heard some cq's and was 75 percent sure it was your
voice. A bit later heard a "KB8" and a bit later got the "Juliet". I
started calling for you, but band was so up and down that I couldn't tell
when you had stopped calling, or if it was QSB. I may have been calling on
top of you part of the time. Anyway, glad it is working and things should
only get better as you tweak and improve the station.
