"Bullying aims to frighten or hurt another person through offhand
remarks and microaggressions, insults, rumors, threats, humiliation,
defamation, and even physical attacks. The behavior causes anxiety
and depression among the victims and can lead to poor physical
health, alcohol abuse, posttraumatic stress disorder, and as we
psychiatrists know all too well, suicide.

"Bullying is considered torture, which is, of course, usually
discussed within the context of human rights abuses."

	AMIN A. MUHAMMAD GADIT, M.D.
