I thought of that too.

I tell you, I have one of those rig-runners from West Mountain Radio for my 
various DC connections, and I could now kick myself for not having gotten 
one years ago.

Putting the Anderson power pole connections together are also a real snap, 
now that I have one of the crimping tools.

The only thing to be aware of is the current rating of that connector.
If all you want is power, why not just come off of your 12v supply?
