I don't often hear topic orientated nets. There are tech nets here on VHF 
and UHF and sometimes there connected together. That's probably the only 
time there's some kind of structure. Even our "emergency training nets" are 
usually informal. Although in that instants I guess the idea is that there 
isn't any emergency. Also I'm noticing that people refer to their round 
tables on HF as nets. I guess they're referring to the routine itself, 
whatever that is. Whether weekly or daily. Often times a particular group 
will call themselves a net. Obviously networking so that's understandable.

     I do appreciate all the help I have received on this list. I have =
been blessed with information that was on and off topic. It is my =
impression from listening to many hours of amateur radio that most of =
the on air conversation is off topic as well. The wonderful thing about =
on air and offer groups is the amazing reservoir of knowledge that is =
available. For instance this message thread. It would have taken me days =
and numerous phone calls to learn the information that I received here =
in a couple of hours.
