Interactive Christian Community www.iccsite.com December 24, 2010
Dear ICC Family and Others Who May Be Interested, I am happy to
announce the first public
release of the 2011 Bible Marathon schedule. In three days we will
present the Bible from the first chapter of Genesis through the last
chapter of Revelation.
After the presentations we will have a time of personal testimony,
reflections and prayer. I have scheduled 86 hours for this event.
This time scheduling
is an approximation. We will make adjustment as needed. The forms of
presentations will include: reading in print or braille, playing an
audio Bible (best
played through your soundcard if possible), or presenting the Bible
using a digital version and speech synthesizer, or even repeating
what you hear through
headphones. This last method was demonstrated superbly last year by
the late Kathy Dobson. We will truly miss her participation this
year. As you notice
the schedule is presented in two-hour blocks. People are allowed to
share the blocks and divide the reading in the way that suits the
presenters for that
block of time. Some people are better readers than others. You may
only want to read one chapter while the person sharing your time does
the rest of the
reading. That is perfectly fine, and nothing negative should be
construed from that or communicated regarding that choice at all.
Wherein possible, we
would like to test a person\'s method of presentation before the
event which will make the event run much more smoothly. We will call
some meetings especially
between December 29 and 31 to accomplish these auditions. If you want
to participate, it is best that you join the ICC if not a member
already. To join
the site visit www.iccsite.com and follow the instructions to click
to become a member. On the next page, please read the Code of
Conduct. If you agree,
then click the join link. Then you are taken to a form to complete.
Please complete the form. Leaving a phone number is optional, but it
does help make
communication easier. When you choose a user name, please follow the
guidelines to use your name, or a common nickname by which you are
normally addressed.
Please do not make up a fake name or handle such as \"manoffaith,\"
no matter how spiritual it may sound. You will then submit the form.
An administrator
will approve your submission. You should then receive an automated
email giving you your user name and password. If you do not receive
it, send an email
to [log in to unmask] and let me know you did not receive the email.
After receiving your user name and password, go to www.iccsite.com
and click on enter
the interactive Christian community. You then need to click on
\"first time users click here to download the plugin.\" Run the
program which is very quickly
installed onto your computer. You may then enter any room. For this
event you would enter the Bible Room. You also need a working
microphone which needs
to be working and properly installed. After this Bible Marathon, we
hope that you will find a reason to continue being a part of ICC. You
can be a blessing
to others and receive many blessings from others as a member of ICC.
Joining does not automatically sign you up to participate in the
Bible Marathon. You
can listen by just coming into the Bible Room during the first three
days from January 1, 2011 and be blessed by the Word. If you want to
participate as
a presenter, please send an email to [log in to unmask] and tell me,
Tim, that you are interested in participating. Please provide the
following information:
name, user name, method of presentation, (reading braille, print
etc.) number of hours you would like to present, and periods of time
that you could be
available. Giving a period of time that covers a greater number of
hours will help me to better fit you into a desired time slot for
you. If you say you
can read for two hours but say you are available for eight hours
giving the specific eight hours, for example, I will schedule you for
just two hours within
the eight hours that you have given. If you only give me two hours,
that block of time may already be adequately filled. Giving more time
gives me more
times from which to choose. If you have already indicated interest,
you should be on the schedule. Please review the schedule and let me
know if any time
absolutely will not work for you, and I will do my best to find
something that works. As more people sign up to participate, some may
be called upon to
give up some of your time. Please don\'t let that bother you. You may
feel disappointment which is natural, but see it as an opportunity to
extend a blessing
to another by graciously affording to another brother/sister the
opportunity of participation. In the midst of the other work I must
do, and in between
opening presents, cooking the Christmas turkey, I will be checking my
email, approving new members and adjusting the schedule. Pray for me!
I have asked
the Lord to give us 40 presenters this year. We are close to half
that number. Over the next three days I believe he will complete the
number. Now let
me tell you about the 2011 Bible Marathon Committee. Frank is
chairman of the committee. The members of the committee also include
Wendy, Paul and Gerald.
These folks are assigned to monitor this activity and deal with any
problems that may arise. I appreciate their faithful service. The
letter m before the
name indicates the name of the monitor at any particular point in the
schedule. That person should be contacted with any concerns. I invite
you to share
this email with others who may wish to participate. Hopefully, many
new people will come to ICC and find they want to stay. All are
welcomed here. As a
presenter you may use the Bible translation of your choice. If you
are not sure that you want to be a presenter but find this
interesting, you may join
ICC and listen as a member. During our 2010 Bible Marathon people who
simply entered the room to listen found it to be a blessing just to
hear the Word
of God being presented. If you have any questions, send them to me at
[log in to unmask] and I will do my best to answer them. God bless you
as you consider
this opportunity of ministry. Brother Tim, ICC Administrator 2011

a monitor and Bible Marathon Committee member. Please read carefully
as some times
contain a moderator but no presenter. Email me at [log in to unmask] to
indicate which time slots you would be available and how many time
slots you are willing
to fill. We are seeking as many as possible who are willing to
participate. Please do not get upset if you do not get the number of
slots you may desire.
You may share a time slot with someone and split the time as best
suits the presentation of both. I also ask you to indicate how you
will present the Bible:
i.e. read in print, read in braille, play from audio, use digital
Bible and repeat from what you hear. Please indicate if you have had
experience in reading
or presenting. If playing audio do you use a program to play through
your soundcard, or do you just use an open microphone? Also please
indicate what version
of the Bible you will be using. Thanks in advance for participating.
All presenters should join the group bible-marathon which is a
yahoogroups email group.
This will help you to get announcements and will make the running of
the Bible Marathon easier for the committee. To subscribe send a
blank email to [log in to unmask]
reply to the confirmation email without changing it and you are
subscribed. Thanks. Bible Marathon Schedule Saturday, January 1, 2011
