"Do Horses Go to Heaven," written by Phil Scovell, is a free Christian
romance
western online e-novel.
Doctor Jonathan William Moore is born with gifted hands and becomes a
surgeon
in Saint Lewis Missouri at the age of sixteen. In his late twenties, he
feels his life has
somehow become less than balanced. Discovering his skill is just as good
with a pair of
specially made hand guns, he trades in his scalpel, buys a horse, and slowly
makes his
way west trying to find meaning in life. Meeting a number of people along
the trail, he
makes some friends whom he helps, and others become immediate enemies. It
then
becomes a contest of kill or be killed.
Arriving at the Rocky Mountain foothills of Colorado, he meets a young
woman
with whom he falls in love. Although she has the body of an adult, she has
the mind of a
child. He is enamored with her oneness with nature and the animals of the
forest but his
love for her becomes worth everything. You will cry, and laugh, and
experience spiritual
peace in the characters in this unusual free Christian online e-novel of God
and guns,
medicine and romance, all experienced in the 1880s of the American Great
West. Not a
Christian? If you like westerns, you might just like it anyway.
