I thought they were selling the cartridges, but I just use a regular USB 
thumb drive.

It appears as though the player won't recognize more than a few books on the 
USB drive, so a small one like 2GB would be plenty.  You can get those for 
probably $15 or less on line from places like Newegg or Amazon.
