He still does that, I just bought one this summer, I have yet to know how
well it works on battery because I got it for my ft-817 but it doesn't want
to work with it so it will go with my 706 and when I hear the right number
and have time to get the boxes, that ft817 is going out of here. I had a
good deal on it and wanted something like that for vacation because the 706
was too much to lug and never use, next year I take an HT I'll probably not
use and that will be it unless I find a way to take the 706 or some other
small radio with out a ton of accessories.
