Ok on all, Kris, and have fun up there with Marie.

If you do end up getting the programming cables, please know that help
working with the software is just an e-mail or a phone call away.

Good luck on your impending surgery, but hopefully, I'll write or talk to
you somehow before then.

Yeah, I agree Tom. I need to get both cables. It's too bad they don't make
one cable that will work with all Kenwood models, but of course not, they
want to sell you more hardware. It's called "marketing" or something like
that. More like "Money" for us.

I'll chat with you when I get home. I'll have almost a month before the
surgery date. I with I could move it up a bit but I don't think I can get
that done now. I should have cancelled my vacation up to Marie's, but she
is so looking forward to it, I couldn't disappoint her.

Oh well, I'll get it all done eventually.

    Kris:

Well, if you ever get the cable and software to program the THF6A, just let
me know, and I should be able to walk you through it.

I'm to the point where I now really don't like using the THF6A and Kenwood
TMV71A without the software. ... If the radio looses the mnemory data for
some reason, it's just so easy to put everything back, rather than having to
start from scratch and do it all by hand.

Tom,

Well, I don't have the cable or the software for the THF6A, so I think I'll
forego that project for the time being.

Thanks much.

    Kris:

I haven't gotten there yet, but there's an option in the software somewhere
that denotes weather or WX channels, and if you hit enter on that, it then
gets you into where those memories are, and then, you can arrange them
however you want.

If you can't find it, let me know. I hope to get back into the THF6A
software later today to finish the programming, but first, the antenna help
is coming, so that's my toppriority right now.

Again, though, let me know if you can't find that set of options, and I'll
get back to you later once I remember where it is myself.

Tom, Neither do I. So, how do you do that? So you are just rearranging the
order you get with the 4 key on the keypad? Sounds good. I'm in a spot
where I can get several rather strong stations and I'd like to have St.
Louis first.

    Kris:

See my earlier e-mail in response to Mike.

As I said there, I don't like the ordering they put the weather frequencies
in the radio at the factory, so I just re-do them from lowest to highest.

Takes me about 5 minutes.

Tom,

You do know that you have all seven weather frequencies already built-in on
the 6A radio? So that could save you some programming, but as for the 440
band, I can't help there.

Subject: THF6A programming question

Folks:

Well, now it's time to tap into your wisdom once again.

I'm trying to program my and my XYL's THF6a's, and have run into a bit of a
snag.

I'm using the programming software, and am trying to put all of the Boulder
CO area repeaters (both 2 meters and 440) on VFO A. I'd like to reserve VFO
B for the weather channels, tv channels, aircraft channels, and other public
service stuff.

I am doing fine with the 2 meter repeaters, but whenever I try to put a 440
repeater into a memory, the software automatically defaults back to 2
meters, whiping out whatever I've just done. I tried switching to VFO B.
for the 440 frequencies, but once I'm in VFO B., I can't seem to get back
into the memories.

Obviously, I'm doing something wrong here.

Can anyone help?
