                           HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

********************************************************

Most (if not all) states have a site where you can check for unclaimed
property under your name. Companies after a set number of years are
required by law to escheat unclaimed property to the state in which
the owner resided when the property was purchased. (I didn't even know
such a word as "escheat" existed before yesterday.)

Here is the url for the Wisconsin site:
     http://www.statetreasury.wisconsin.gov/ucpweb/ucpsearch.aspx

If you have lived in other states, search online for "unclaimed
property" and the name of the state you lived in.

A friend of mine found more than $4,000 being held by the State of
Iowa. I found two claims under my parents' names. The amounts were
really small but a dollar is a dollar is a dollar.

Good luck with your search.
Anita
